Past And Future

I love the Rocky Mountains - they are towering and awe-inspiring - but in my mind, they hold no candle to the Appalachians. When I was young, I thought I'd like the Rocky's more - when I was young I dreamed of scaling great heights, and so it fits. But today, it is Blue Ridge that calls to me.

I love the Appalachians because they feel old and storied and haunted. Ghosts of ancient minors and Scottish Presbyters, of men and women and children swirl in the mist and fog that skirts these mountains in the morning and evening.

I'm moving to Virginia...someday. And when I move there, several years from now when I've saved some money and paid off student loans, I will enter this program.

You should.

Doesn't it just make you drool? I did too.
