What is Beautiful

Have you ever ridden a horse? Have you ever turned him loose and let him run? Did you gasp for air as the scenery whipped by? Have you ever felt him try? It is the glory of God's creation responding back to him.

Have you ever stood in the middle of West Texas on a summer night? Have you ever seen the night sky pulsing with light - more full than empty? Did you ever grasp - really grasp - the Milky Way or chase a shooting star? It is the glory of God's artistry wrapped about us.

These things have brought me to my knees. They have squeezed my heart so tight and sent tears streaming down my face. They are beautiful in ways that I cannot speak of.

The riverbeds of fertility and sex are too shallow to contain the enormity of beauty.
